LithMag Fire has developed a professional range of high-temperature lithium-ion battery fire blankets specifically for battery thermal events. Our blanket sizes range from compact units for small devices and equipment through to large formats capable of covering a full electric vehicle (EV).
A LithMag Fire Blanket is designed to rapidly improve scene control once deployed over an involved battery or vehicle, helping to:
• Reduce fire spread to surrounding assets
• Contain smoke, sparks, and toxic fumes
• Limit radiant heat exposure
• Support safer evacuation and incident management
• Assist responders while further suppression plans are implemented
LithMag Fire Blankets are manufactured from advanced technical fabrics selected for extreme heat resistance, durability, and industrial performance. The materials are engineered to withstand prolonged high-temperature exposure while also helping contain hot metallic fragments or debris that may be ejected during a lithium battery failure event.
New high performance battery fire blanket specifically designed for lithium ion battery packs.
AVD Fire Ltd has developed a new range of high performance, multi-use, lithium-ion battery fire blankets (“Blankets”) which are designed specifically for fires involving devices incorporating lithium-ion batteries.
Our Blankets are capable of withstanding extremely high temperatures in an oxidising atmosphere for a prolonged period of time, as well as being robust enough to provide a measure of protection against potential debris and shrapnel expelled during a battery fire.
The AVD Fire range of Blankets are manufactured using fire resistant technical fabrics based on the highest temperature resistant silica glass fibres.
Flame deflection protection is added to these fibres as well as abrasion resistance utilising a variety of proprietary surface coatings. The non-flammable, vermiculite dispersion mineral–coated glass fabric is overlaid with a sacrificial, protective silicone layer.
No rupture of the fabric after several hours at 1000°C
No rupture of the fabric after 30 minutes at 1200°C
Fabric becomes brittle after 30 minutes at 1300°C to 1500°C
