Advanced Thermal Protection for Electric Vehicle Incident Response

Developed in response to operational requirements identified by the London Fire Brigade, the LithMag Guardian-8 is an ultra-low water volume, high-pressure misting system designed to provide continuous cooling of electric vehicle battery packs during rescue and recovery operations.

Unlike conventional firefighting equipment, the Guardian-8 is intended for thermal management rather than fire suppression. It delivers an evenly distributed, high-efficiency cooling mist beneath the vehicle, reducing battery temperatures while firefighters conduct casualty extrication or prepare for tactical intervention.

By using a finely atomised water mist, the Guardian-8 achieves exceptional cooling performance while dramatically reducing water consumption and limiting the spread of contaminated run-off.

The LithMag doctrine recognises that excessive water application can generate significant volumes of contaminated run-off requiring environmental management.

The Guardian-8 supports a different approach.

Its eight precision nozzles generate a dense cooling mist that maximises heat absorption while using only a fraction of the water required by traditional hose streams. This allows responders to maintain battery cooling with greatly reduced environmental impact.

Under-Vehicle Cooling

The low-profile design allows the Guardian-8 to be positioned beneath an electric vehicle where it continuously cools the battery enclosure while rescue teams perform occupant extraction.

Cabin Cooling

Where thermal runaway gases are venting from inside the passenger compartment, the Guardian-8 may also be deployed through an open or broken window to create a high-density cooling mist inside the vehicle, helping reduce internal temperatures while maintaining a safe stand-off distance.

The Guardian-8 complements the LithMag approach to lithium-ion battery incidents:

The Guardian-8 is intended to provide an additional layer of thermal protection during the critical period between incident stabilisation and final battery suppression or vehicle recovery.

Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
